"Lexington's Premier
Krav Maga Training Center"

Our Mission
Our goal is: "to provide the citizens of central Kentucky with a professional, well-organized self-defense training curriculum with an emphasis on quality instruction and individual accomplishment."

At Moberly's Krav Maga, we believe that teaching self-defense is a huge responsibility.  If we teach even one technique incorrectly, it literally could cost someone thier life.  Prior to offering Krav Maga in Lexington, we extensively researched the different self-defense methods that were available.  We quickly came to the conclusion that Krav Maga is the most effective street self-defense curriculum on the planet.  No other martial art has been more battle tested in today's world than Krav Maga.  Therefore, we look forward to doing our part in teaching this great martial art to the community.

Krav Maga and Mixed Martal Arts:

People often ask about the differences between Krav Maga and mixed martial arts(mma).  Krav Maga uses some of the same techniques seen in mma fights, with several key differences.  In mixed martial arts, as in many forms of martial arts, there are rules that protect the combatants (with good reason).  However, in Krav Maga, we embrace those techniques that are illegal in most other arts because it is those techniques that are the most effective and damaging in a fight.  The point is that there are no rules on the street, so we DO NOT limit our students' ability to defend themselves by forcing rules upon them.

Other differences are the methods used in training.  In Isreal, the IDF(Isreali Defense Force) doesn't have time to dedicate years to train battle ready troops.  In fact, because Isreal is surrounded by enemies, they have only a few months to train soldiers before they are put on the street.  Therefore, they created unique stress and agression drills designed to get their troops prepared quickly.  Our classes utilize these same types of drills, so students will also get proficient quickly.

Finally, mixed martial arts doesn't address many of the dangers that are prevalent on the street today.  For example, in Krav Maga, we train gun, knife, and stick defenses.  In fact, our weapons defenses are taught in hundreds of military and law enforcement agencies around the world.

For those looking for a practical, no nonsense approach to self-defense, look no further than Krav Maga.
